What is Intergroup?

As per saa-recovery.org:

“An intergroup is made up of individuals representing autonomous member groups within a defined geographic region, who meet regularly to coordinate activities and conduct business for the collective benefit of their member groups. Specialized types of meetings, such as tele-meetings or online meetings, may also choose to form intergroups to address issues unique to their particular medium.”

The Vancouver Intergroup works in the following ways:

To help SAA groups carry the SAA message to the addict who still suffers

To allow for the effective use of Vancouver SAA funds.

To provide shared services and resources to individual members and local SAA groups.

To help coordinate outreach and public information for SAA in British Columbia

Service is at the heart of sustaining our Vancouver SAA fellowship’s mission to reach out to sex addicts who are still suffering. While roles like sponsorship or serving in elected positions within meetings or Intergroups are commonly recognized forms of service, there are numerous other opportunities to contribute. Simply attending meetings is itself an act of service. We strive to identify and fulfill various service needs within our community. Below, we outline some of these opportunities, ranging from minimal effort tasks to ongoing commitments, all aimed at strengthening our fellowship and supporting those in need.

Intergroup Service Opportunities

There are always opportunities to get involved with the Vancouver SAA Intergroup. Service work is a great way to enhance recovery, and work with other SAA members on initiatives that benefit the Fellowship as a whole.
We are now supporting dual roles for some of the positions within Intergroup. This will help lighten the load and for support roles to step in, in case of the main position is absent or cannot commit to the full responsibility in a given month.

The Vancouver Intergroup meeting is seeking people for the following positions:
